Who is behind better-jobs?
An independent, founder-led platform built solely on the candidate's side of the table.
On your side, by design
better-jobs is created and run by Chris Korakas. It is not a staffing agency, not a headhunting firm, and not a corporate job board. We don't resell your CV, and no recruiter is paying us for access to your data. Because this is an independent platform, its only incentive is to help you succeed.
How it started
The site was born out of a real need: watching close family and friends struggle through the exhausting, opaque process of finding their next better job.
I started with spreadsheets, collected job sites, tracked metadata about them in Excel, built activity trackers and tried setting up monitors to get email alerts when listings changed. It was complicated, tedious to maintain, and gave frustratingly little result for the hours spent.
Built to do the heavy lifting
I then turned to Lovable and modern AI to build something better. Hour by hour, day by day, line by line, one prompt at a time, it became the workspace I always dreamt I could one day have: an intelligent job radar, tailored letters, deep CV gap analysis, STAR story prep, and adaptive AI recruiters you can practise with until you pass your own bar.
Here for the long run
This isn't a fleeting experiment. It is an evolving workspace backed by independent career coaches, regular updates, and complete data sovereignty — you can export your entire dossier and activity at any time.
I don't pretend to have every future chapter written, but the goal is crystal clear: if better-jobs genuinely helps you find and land your next better job, I might just have found mine too.
Enjoy the tools, and help us shape what comes next with your feedback in the Ideas corner or via Help improve.
How it works
The home page walks you through six steps, from your first CV upload to a mock interview you actually passed.
1. Tell us about you
Upload your CV and, if you like, point us at your LinkedIn. Everything else is built from that.
2. Set a job search profile
Keywords, locations, seniority, the things that actually matter to you. Up to ten profiles on Pro.
3. Find and track prospects
Job Radar scans shared sources around the clock and ranks each lead against your profile. Track them on the board and calendar.
4. Prepare to apply
A motivation letter in your own language, and a 60-second video pitch with a guided checklist.
5. Prepare for the interview
A prep pack for the specific job: key points, honest answers about your gaps, questions to ask, STAR stories, and a dry-run with a human coach.
6. Mock until you get it right
Seven AI recruiter styles — friendly HR, rigorous manager, stress-tester, EU panel and more. You set the pass mark, the length and the extra input; the recruiter adapts to your answers.
What we deliberately don't promise
Passing an AI mock interview is not a guarantee of passing the real one.
These are training tools. They give you repetition, honest scoring and a place to rehearse — they cannot predict a human decision-maker, and we would never claim to.
We don't apply for you.
better-jobs never contacts employers, submits applications or represents you to anyone. Everything that leaves your account leaves it because you pressed a button.
Human coaches are independent.
They set their own fees and their own booking links. Payments between you and a coach happen outside better-jobs, and we don't take a cut.
Paid AI checks only run when you ask for them.
The CV match analyzer, the employer red-flag check and the interview coaching loop cost money on every run, so nothing expensive happens in the background.
Your data, your call
- · Your CV, leads, notes and interview history sit in your own private area of the database, not a shared pool anyone can browse.
- · You can download everything you've put in at any time, from your profile page — one file, yours to keep.
- · Closing your account takes your data with it.
- · Optional interview practice video is deleted automatically after 7 days unless you choose to keep it.
- · Coaching sessions marked confidential store no notes at all.
- · We don't sell, rent or hand over your CV or your data to employers, recruiters or advertisers.
Transparent, European and open
You deserve to know where your data lives and what the platform is built on.
Hosted in the EU, under GDPR.
Your account, CV, notes and files are stored in Frankfurt, Germany. Your candidate data does not leave the European Union, and we handle it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Built on open-source foundations.
The app runs on widely used open-source technology — React and TanStack for the interface, PostgreSQL for the database. No proprietary lock-in: it can be rebuilt and hosted with standard open tools by any provider, including European ones.
The code and data belong to us, not to a vendor.
The full source code is owned by better-jobs and can be exported at any time, and the database can be backed up in full. If our hosting ever had to change, the platform — and your data — would move with us.
AI used with care.
AI features only run when you ask for them, and only on what is needed for that task. The platform is designed so the AI provider can be swapped, including for open-source models, without changing how you use it.
What it costs
Free lets you test-drive the core. Pro adds the deep CV match, the interview prep loop, the AI recruiters and your own job sources. Pro Max is Pro with unlimited AI coaching. Plans run for six months or a year, and a changed plan is applied within 24–48 hours of payment.
Talk to the person who runs it
